How to ask for permission
Private: no ask needed; you keep it for your own records.
Internal use: "That landed really well. Are you OK if I share that internally with the team so we know what good looks like?"
Shareable: "Would you mind if I quoted you, attributed, when I am talking to other GCs wrestling with the same thing? Happy to send you the line first."
REFERRAL ASK
"You came back inside 48 hours with three names and one of them was the person we hired."
Use it for: warm intro to a peer GC at another firm
Script: "Sarah Pemberton at Northwood and Hayes said this to me last month. She mentioned a peer at [firm] is dealing with the same Disputes coverage problem. Would you be open to a fifteen-minute intro?"
MULTITHREAD INTRO

Use it for: opening a new stakeholder inside the same client
Script: "Sarah said this about the way we worked the brief. Your Managing Partner has not seen how we operate yet. Could we set up thirty minutes so I can show what that process actually looks like?"
